IT Cost Reduction: No Savings, No Fees
IT cost reduction · Wellington and NZ wide
Most businesses pay for technology they no longer use: licences for staff who left years ago, phone lines nobody answers, two backup products doing the same job, a contract that renewed itself at a higher price. We find it, fix it, and are only paid from what you save. If we don’t find a saving, you pay nothing.
We work with businesses across the Wellington region, including Wellington City, the Hutt Valley, Porirua, Kāpiti and Wairarapa, and anywhere in New Zealand, as most of this work is done remotely.
Why an IT provider, not an accountant?
Cost consultants compare invoices. We understand the systems behind them, so we can tell whether everyone really needs the top Microsoft 365 plan, whether a VMware renewal can be replaced, or whether a backup product is safe to cancel. And because we do the technical work ourselves, savings get made instead of sitting in a report.
Bills and contracts you don’t understand
Send us the IT bill nobody can explain, or the agreement a provider signed you up to years ago. We go through it line by line and tell you in plain English what you’re paying for and whether you use it. We also pick out the terms that matter: minimum term, auto-renewal, notice period, exit fees and price rises. This is a technical and commercial review, not legal advice.
Our promises
- No savings, no fees: Nothing to pay for the review
- Your approval first: Nothing changes without your sign-off
- No drop in service or security: We won’t recommend a saving that leaves you less protected
- Independent advice: We take no commission or referral fees from other vendors. If a recommendation involves our own services, such as our licensing service, we say so and show the numbers next to the alternatives
The service
What we look at
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace: Unused seats, plans that don’t match the role and add-ons nobody uses (see our Microsoft 365 licence review and licensing service)
- Software and subscriptions: Duplicate tools, forgotten subscriptions on company cards and per-user apps still billed for former staff
- Telco and phones: Fibre, broadband, mobiles, phone systems, 0800 numbers and old lines still being billed
- Cloud, hosting and domains: Oversized cloud servers, websites and email hosted in several places, and domains renewing on autopilot
- Servers and VMware: Renewals that have jumped in price, ageing servers, and whether Proxmox or the cloud would cost less
- Backup and security tools: Overlapping backup, antivirus and email filtering products, and storage kept forever
- Devices, printers and leases: Copier click charges, hardware leases, EFTPOS terminal rentals and equipment you’ve already paid off
- IT support and maintenance contracts: What you pay against what you use, including us if we’re already your provider
- Anything else with a tech bill: Website maintenance plans, software support agreements and contracts with providers you’re not familiar with
Best suited to organisations spending around $2,000 a month or more on IT, software and telco. Available on its own or alongside our managed IT service. See our pricing for our other rates.
How it works
1. A free first conversation
We agree which areas to look at, and you decide what’s in scope.
2. You share your bills
Three months of invoices, any contracts, and read-only admin access where possible. It usually takes about an hour of your time.
3. We report back within 30 days
Every saving we found, what it’s worth a year, the effort to make it and any risk.
4. You approve, we implement
Only the changes you sign off, and we deal with the vendors for you.
5. You pay a share of what you save
50% of the verified monthly saving for 12 months. After that, every dollar is yours.
How we’re paid
There’s no upfront cost and nothing to pay for the review. When a change goes through, we compare the old invoice with the new one and charge 50% of the monthly saving for the next 12 months. For one-off refunds or credits we recover from a vendor, our fee is 30% of the amount recovered. All fees are plus GST.
Example: If we take $855 a month off your bills, our fee is $427.50 a month for 12 months. You keep the other $427.50 a month in the first year, and the full $10,260 a year after that.
If a saving needs project work, such as a migration, we quote it separately and you decide. The fee share only starts once the saving has paid for the project.

Common questions
What does the review cost?
Nothing. You only pay a share of savings we’ve made and you’ve seen on your bills.
Can you just explain a bill or contract for us?
Yes. It’s part of the free review. If it turns up a saving, the usual fee share applies. If it doesn’t, there’s nothing to pay.
How do you prove the saving?
We compare the old invoice with the new one, line by line. If a vendor price rise was coming anyway, we count the saving from the price you would have paid.
Will you just recommend your own services?
No. We take no referral fees from other vendors. If switching to us, or buying licences through us, is one of the options, we show it next to the others with the numbers, and you can say no.
Do we have to change IT provider?
No. We can work alongside your current provider, or simply hand them the list.
What if we reverse a change later?
The fee only applies while the saving stands. If you undo a change, the fee for it stops too.
Is our information safe?
We use read-only access wherever we can, work under a confidentiality agreement, and remove our access when the review ends.
